Who are we

At DRH Lindersvold, we believe in the transformative power of education, activism, and community engagement. Our organisation is dedicated to creating positive change in the world by empowering individuals and communities through education and sustainable development.

Established in 1995, Lindersvold is an international education centre located in the beautiful Danish countryside. We welcome individuals from all walks of life who are passionate about making a difference and want to contribute to a more just and sustainable world.

Through our various programs and projects, we offer hands-on learning opportunities that empower participants to develop their skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities while contributing to making a meaningful impact in communities around the world.

With more than eight nationalities represented, our team’s experiences and diversity make for a collaborative, diverse, and inspirational educational environment. In addition, our team has a broad spectrum of skills from the corporate sector to the grassroots level.

School Administration

Tina whittington

School Director

Tina, an experienced educator and community advocate from Manchester, holds a Diploma in Counselling and has supported female victims of rape, domestic violence, and homelessness. She spent 14 months on an international development program at DRH Holsted, including 6 months with DAPP Zambia at an HIV & AIDS project. With over 23 years of education experience, she served as Director and Teacher at DRH schools, including 10 years at DRH Lindersvold.

Teacher and Tutors

Corinne Koch

Teacher & Erasmus coordinator

Corinne is from Italy, where she finished a degree in intercross communication. In 2019, she participated in the Volunteer for Change programme at DRH Lindersvold and spent her project period in Malawi. After receiving training in the field of Erasmus projects, she returned to DRH Lindersvold in 2022. She now works as a teacher for the programme and is responsible for partnerships within the Erasmus framework.

Gert Tjoelker

Teacher

Gert is originally from the Netherlands. He studied General Social Science at the University of Utrecht from 1990 until 1996. In 1998, he participated in a 14-month volunteer program at the Traveling Folk High School in Norway, which included six months of volunteer work in Zambia. Since July 1999, he has been working in various positions within the DRH Schools in Denmark, and since 2013, he has been teaching volunteers at DRH Lindersvold.

Imasiku Sitali

Teacher

Imasiku is from Zambia and has over 20 years of community work experience in project management, coordinating projects with funding from the EU, UNICEF, and the Government of the Republic of Zambia. He has worked with volunteers from Europe and America for over ten years, collaborating with communities. Currently, in 2019, Imasiku started as a teacher at DRH Lindersvold.

Robb Richard

Tutor

Robb is a learning material writer for DRH Lindersvold. Originally from France, he worked as a civil servant and studied biology at university. In 2014, he attended the 24-month Pedagogy and Fighting with the Poor program. After finishing the program in 2016, he stayed in Lindersvold to work as a distance learning tutor until 2022. He has held his current position since then.

Communication and Outreach

Jørn Balsen

Communication Manager

Jørn, an educated teacher from Denmark, volunteered in Zimbabwe in 1984. Before working at DRH Lindersvold, he worked in fashion, challenged youth in Copenhagen and promoted Volunteer programmes. He started working at DRH Lindersvold in 2004 as a headmaster, teacher, and leader of their adult care home. In 2013, he changed his position to become a recruiter for DRH Lindersvold.

Thomas mors

Communication officer

Originally from Denmark, Thomas worked in retail before moving to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. There, he completed an 18-month international development volunteer program at Richmond Vale Academy and taught climate studies while leading volunteer groups in climate adaptation projects. Since 2017, Thomas has worked in communication and graphic design at DRH Lindersvold.

Lyndsay Jensen

Outreach coordinator

Lyndsay has more than 25 years of experience in the publishing and marketing world. She holds degrees in both Business and DTP. Born in the UK and brought up in South Africa. Five years ago, Lyndsay founded a volunteer magazine called The International, which supports newcomers to Denmark. She now joins our team as an Outreach Coordinator and is responsible for promoting the school and their programmes.
